A new day and a new old garden. The garden of Zhuozhengyuan has large areas with lotus plants.

After the visit to the garden we went to a factory producing silk. We also got to se the production of silk fabrics.

After a small trip by boat on one of the many canals of Suzhou we went to the Embroidery Institute of Suzhou. There the students spend 5 years to learn the art of silk embroidery. They had lots of wonderful embroideries, one sided, double-sided (mirror images) and one where the front and backside were different! The later made using a technique only 50 persons mastered – not many considering how many there are living in China!
På kvelden gikk vi på nattoget til Beijing.
At night we embarked the night train for Beijing.
